Exciting news for riders and their followers - we will have some major course changes this year, including use of a new field which will make it possible for spectators to see most of the action from near the main arena! And it has been raining - Hurrahh! XC Schooling after the event - including a clinic with top rider Francis Whittington - CLICK HERE HORSE TRIALS Sunday August 29th 2010: BE 100 (Pre Novice) and Novice Horse Trials Classes (dressage, show jumping and cross country) and, new for 2009, The Mitsubishi Motors BE100 Grassroots Badminton Championship Regional Qualifier. ___________________________________________________________ CROSS COUNTRY SCHOOLING AFTER THE EVENT: School round on your own - - Monday August 30th, Tuesday August 31st or Wednesday September 1st. Once a year opportunity to school over the intro, pre-novice and novice horse trials courses (2’9 – 3’11). £25 per horse. You must sign in before going out on the course and wear a hard hat and body protector. OR Book into a clinic with BE accredited trainer Francis Whittington on TUESDAY 31ST August (£50 per horse - please email Jo Carr at jo@firleplaceevent.co.uk with details of you and your horse's experience and we will confirm times nearer the date). Friendly efficient stewarding for all phases always helps the day go well and how nice to feel a bit of atmosphere in the show jumping ring with all the stands around.

Thank you very much for a fantastic weekend at Firle. Although my results page does not look that great, both of my horses and more importantly I learnt loads from the weekend. The weather on saturday was beautiful and I was lucky enough to finish before it got too hot. Unfortunately on sunday I choose to walk the course and was at the further point when the heavens opened. Never mind at least when I was riding I managed to compete in the dry. Thanks again and roll on next year. Moving the show jumping and trade stands up to the house has transformed the event and has made it into one of the best Novice venues. Become a helper:
